King George SC opened their gates for their first open event since returning in January to the ISO, Buzz and Spices for the annual Inlands Championship, with the delights of shifty Easterlies. The well travelled challengers from Bartley, Calshot, Emsworth and Draycote joined those from the closer waters of Essex, Minnis Bay and King George.

Herne Bay on the North Kent coast is one of those quaint English sea side towns that hiding a gem of a sailing venue. HBSC nestles right down on the promenade where you rig just above a shingle beach with a wooden ramp access to the sea. The Beach Master and team were superb at getting the ISO, Buzz and Laser 2000 fleets out to sea a well drilled process !!
Sun and light, shifty winds with several knots of tide greeted the fleet. Keam-Georges returned to win the opening race hotly pursued by Walker / Keam-George making it a family affair. Race 2 went the opposite way with Neil Pryde 1 taking line honours followed by Howlett / Newport in a well deserved 2nd place after a last leg wind shift turned the reach into a F3 beat.

First event of the season was a blast ! Full on strong shifty conditions peaking in 30knot gusts greeted the ISO, Buzz and Xenon fleets at Oxford SC.
First blood went to 1184, Neil Pryde followed up by 553, Team Lewis - just taking 2nd away from 814, Cousin Trestec. Race 2 and Cousin Trestec took the lead on the first beat, pitch polled into last place by a huge gust,
The 2006 ISO Eurocup was held at La Rochelle in Western France. The event, sponsored by Cousin Trestec, was hosted by the Societe des Regates Rochelaises. The racing took place between the 25th and 28th July. With several teams arriving on the weekend, there was plenty of time for last minute tuning and some practice out on the water. Others decided to enjoy the glorious weather and beaches in the surrounding locations. The town itself provided plenty of shopping opportunities for the WAGS.

There were 29 entries for the Cousin Trestec sponsored ISO nationals. It was held at Hayling Island Yacht Club in conjunction with the Buzz and Boss nationals. The event took place over the bank holiday with three races scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday with two on Monday. Those boats that arrived on Friday could have had a preview of what lay ahead- the view from Sandy Point was not encouraging with white horses breaking in the harbour and the infamous bar looking like a washing machine.

Now in the fourth year of the series, RWO Marine Equipment Ltd volunteered to continue their support of the ISO Class Pro-Am series. Their contributions are money off vouchers for their products, as well as some accompanying hardware prizes.
