Barberhaulers
To guarantee the barberhaulers are the same on both sides of the boat, measure them at their neutral position, ie not altering the natural course of the jib sheet from the cleat to the clew. and mark the barber in the middle of the boat at 0 on a scale (see picture). Repeat for the other side.
Another handy tip is to have different coloured ropes for each barber so as to easily identify which one you are pulling.
Barbers connected together on one piece of rope. They are adjusted via one adjuster located at the base of the mast. This is a quick first attempt at a new method of adjustment. The benefit of this system is that is will guarantee both barbers are of the same length on each tack.
